COVID-19 Travel Update for Students Travelling to the UK

From 15 February, 2021, Monday, onwards, everyone allowed to enter the UK from outside the Common Travel Area has to follow the below guidelines:

  • Mandatory COVID test needed if the student arrives in the UK, the test should be taken within 72 Hrs of arrival. If failed to comply there is a 500 GBP fine. It is suggested to conduct the COVID test only from the centres which will provide detailed reports and not just Positive and Negative reports.

  • Fill in your passenger locator form, link to which is provided below.

  • Quarantine for the duration of 10 days, during this period, conduct COVID test on 2nd and 8th day with online booked COVID kit (this costs £210).

Providing false or deliberately misleading information when filling out the passenger locator form is an offence punishable by imprisonment. They could be fined up to £10,000, imprisoned for up to 10 years or both if they do not provide accurate details about the countries they have visited in the 10 days before they have arrived in the UK.

Please advise students to book their travel test package kits as soon as possible if travelling on or after the 15.02.2021. Guidelines for Hotel Quarantine: 1. For Scotland all the students irrespective of the country they are travelling from they have to quarantine themselves in the Government managed hotels, which can be booked online using the below link. 2. For England the students travelling/visited in the last 10 days from the red list country (list of the country given below) they need to hotel quarantine themselves. However India is not in the Red List countries.
